Basilica Cistern or Yerebatan Sarayi
If you visit Istanbul you have to go tot he Basilica Cistern, even it is a sultry day. The cistern is located near Hagia Sofia, so
it is not far away from one oft he most seen touristical hotspots.
A few steps downstairs and you are in another world.
Most of the 336 marble columns are illuminated, which
creates a particular atmosphere. At the beginning you cant see the whole
cistern but if you walk along the footbrige you get an idea of how spacious the
140 by 65 metres area is.
The so called most important thing in the Cistern is the steeped in legend head of medusa. For me it was nothing special, just a stone, but the
chinese group behind us was really impressed!! They were running straight to
the column without perceiving the atmosphere in the cistern!

Entertainment and Atmosphere.

NuTeras/ NuPera Insider tip
.
NuTeras is located on the
top floor of NuPera and has a spectacular view over the golden Horn
The bar is
right against the balcony area that gives you a feeling of floating high above
the clouds. Dancing on their raised stage is fun again with the lights of the
city off in the distance. It's a great change of view from the usual
Bosphorus/Blue Mosque one. This is of the Golden Horn River that divides the
two European land masses of Istanbul. The food is of a high standard too,
International and European dishes.
Start your evening by having dinner at
NuPera Restaurant, Lilbitz , 67 or AUF with a choice of French, Italian,
Fusion, Californian cuisine or just finger food. In summer you to have a drink
at NuTeras, on the roof of NuPera, to enjoy the sunset and the amazing Golden
Horn view!

Welcome to the Canyon
Due to the hot weather conditions we decided to go into the Canyon Mall to feel a bit more comfortable. The Mall is located in the business
district Levent and has about 160 shops like Zara, Mango, GAP, Lacoste and
Partizia Pepe.
Location of the Mall |
The Mall is famous for it´s architecture and therefore we
had great expectations.
What should I say? We were not disappointed! It´s nice to see the construction and the design oft he shops, especially on the 5th floor, but for shopping there are better adresses in Istanbul;-)
Galata Köprüsü / Galata Bridge
Galata Bridge is the heart of Istanbul, spanning the Golden Horn from Karakö on the north to Old Istanbul, centered on Sultanahmet on the south. Crossing the bridge you look west toward Europe and east across the Basphorus to Üsküdar and Asia.
Short historical classification:
During the Ottoman period, the bridge also had a symbolic link between the traditional and imperial city, and the districts of Galata, Beyoğlu, Şişli and Harbiye where a large proportion of the inhabitants are non-Muslims, foreigners and diplomats.
Now, our experiences:
If you stay in Istanbul, you cannot miss the famous Galata Bridge. The Bridge itself with hundreds of fishermen to the left and the right of the upper bridge level and lots of restaurants on the lower level you must have experienced.
Not to forget the area around the Bridge: a lot of piers for different farrow routes and boat tours, the Asian style junks where you can get tasteful grilled fish, wonderful views into all directions
After travelling, we stopped for dinner at one of the many restaurants under the Galata Bridge. It was an interesting location to eat, with fishing lines constantly being cast from the bridge above and occasionally being pulled in with fish on the hook. Watching all the craft on the water at the busy end of a day was also interesting.

Sunday Evening Dinner
Today we had a nice dinner with delicious food and a very well overview over the City at the Restaurant "Teras6" :-)
It´s located in Beyoglu, not far away from the main shopping street in Taksim, so if you need a shopping-break you can go there and have some drinks or dinner.
Here you can see where the Restaurant is located!

Bosporus Tour by boat
The Bosporus or Bosphorus, also known as the Istanbul Strait, is a strait that divides the European part (Rumelia) of Turkey with its Asian part (Anatolia). However, the Bosporus is so much more than just a body of water separating two land masses! Throughout history it has been coveted for its strategic location – attracting some of the world’s most interesting cultures.
Today after the clubbing night we decided to visit the bosporus by Ferry Cruise : it was a great experience. We saw many old historical buildings, drunk apple tea and enjoyed the day.
The tour we made:
Istanbul by Night; ,,Bu gece Reina´ ya gidiyoruz."
Yesterday night we visited Reina. It is located; Ortaköy Mh. Muallim Naci Caddesi 44, 34347 Istanbul.
Probably the city's glitziest club, this is where Istanbul's society dance the night away. Its two floors are large enough to include Istanbul's priciest – and, some say, best – restaurant, which comes with a nifty trick: diners don't have to pay the 50TL (ca. 25 Euro ) entrance fee to the club.
Watch out: http://reina.com.tr/
If you visit Istanbul in summer time you should add this place to your 'must see' list. Its outdoor and has the BEST views of Istanbul. I do not think that there are so many clubs like this one in the world. it is special because of its location.

Shopping mall
Yesterday we went to a big shopping mall. There we found shops like Victoria Secret, pull&bear or zara -Dream for every girl-
The results of our Trip are two Dresses, three pair of shoes and some accessoires. Perfect.:)
